The leadership of State Fund Agriculture will refer to the prosecution 101 cases of irregularities found involving projects financed under SAPARD, the Deputy Executive Director of the fund Konstantin Palikarski told a news conference Thursday.

In 51 of the cases there are doubts of false offers and in another 51 cases - doubts that the SAPARD subsidies wanted by the beneficiaries are higher than the mean market prices of the assets to date, Palikarski said. The cases were discovered at the implementation of the action plan on SAPARD.

The number of projects to be referred to the prosecution total 101 because one applicant falls in both categories.

For the period for which the fund has been with a new leadership (since July) 20 new cases of irregularities have been registered, State Fund Agriculture Executive Director Atanas Kunchev said. Eleven of the cases were found to be documents making false statements.

Kunchev added that the analyses of Grand Thornton cover investments under the program for the July 2001 - August 2008 period amounting to 611 million leva paid subsidy.
