Stocks End Lower as Changes to BSE's Indexes Come Into Effect

The changes to three of the four indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) came into effect today as the market once again ended lower. The SOFIX blue-chip index lost 0.82%, to 846.76 points. The number of the blue-chips listed for trade on BSE increased by one as Enemona joined the index today.
The broader BG40 index slipped 1.25%, to 204.28 points after the changes. The nine new companies that joined the index are: Holding Roads, Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria, Trace Group Hold, Enemona, Billboard, Neochim, Favorit Hold, Polimeri and Oil & Gas Exploration & Production, while Chugunoleene, Bulgarian River Shipping, Albena, М+S Hydraulic, Devin, Lomsko Pivo, Severcoop Gamza Holding, Zaharni Zavodi and Holding Varna are no longer among the index's components.
The BG TR30 index of best performers in total return skidded 0.56% lower to 563.87 points. Holding Varna, M+S Hydraulic, Petrol, Plovdiv-Yuri Gagarin BT, Polimeri, Central Cooperative Bank, Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT were replaced in the index by Holding Roads, Enemona, Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria, Moststroy, Lead & Zinc Complex, Sparky Eltos and Trace Group Hold. The BG REIT index lost 0.83% on the day dropping to 81.17 points.
BSE's overall trading turnover amounted to 2.63 mln leva, while the value of the over-the-counter deals stood at 2.24 mln leva. A total of 95 issues were traded on the day with 27 of the stock posting gains.
Bulgarian American Credit Bank was among today's advancers. The stock of the bank appreciated by 6.41% after 1 701 shares traded. The average price of the stock settled at 50.01 leva per share.
Other gainers today included Toplivo (+5.6%, average price of 13.96 leva per share), Neochim (+1.22%, average price of 79.62 leva per share) and М+S Hydraulic (+3.83%, average price of 6.58 leva per share).
Polimeri's advance, which started last week, continued today. A total of 1,140 shares in the company changed hands on the day, while the stock appreciated by 3.09%. The average price of the stock settled at 3.31 leva per share.
A total of 15,635 shares on the position of Elma traded hands today. The stock of the company appreciated by 1.07%, to 3.79 leva per share.
Alcomet was also traded in high volumes today. A total of 12,000 shares in the company were traded at an average price of 5 leva per share. The stock price of the company remained unchanged.
Enemona's stock price slipped by 4.41% upon the company's debut as a member of the SOFIX. A total of 315 shares on the position changed hands today at an average price of 15.15 leva per share.
FIBank's stock depreciated by 1.86% to an average of 5.29 leva per share, which coincided with the news that Fitch Ratings has changed the banks perspective from “stable” to “negative”. A total of 9,456 shares in the bank traded hands on the day.
Other decliners today included CCB (-3.33%, average price of 2.96 leva per share) and KTB (-0.78%, average price of 87.52 leva per share). KTB's profit stood at 26.58 mln leva as at the end of August, up by more than 3 mln leva compared to July.
Orgachim's stock price went down by 2.5% after 147 shares traded. The average price of the stock settled at 131.64 leva per share.
Lead & Zinc Complex's stock price rose by 1.54% to an average price of 22.53 leva per share. The daily volume on the position came to 2,273 shares.
