BSE's Stock Indexes Have Shed Over 20% This Month
The major indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted losses in fifth consecutive session today.
The SOFIX blue-chip index lost 7.46 to 605.59 points, while the broader BG40 declined by 5.65%, to 155.93 points. The SOFIX even slipped to under the 600-point mark dutring today's session for the first time since november 2004. The BG40 closed at its lowest level since June 2006.
The BG40 and the SOFIX have shed 21.48% and 23.58% since the beginning of the month, respectively. The decline amounts to 61.67% and 55.17%, respectively since the start of the year.
BSE's trading turnover excceded 17 mln leva today. Three of the five most traded companies today were banks. The trading volume on the positions of First Investment Bank, BACB and Corporate Commercial Bank came to 722,000, 168,000 and 100,000 shares.
Only one of the 20 stocks included in the calculation of the SOFIX advanced today. First Investment Bank's stock appreciated by 1.67%, to 3.35 leva.
The bank told Profit.bg yestereday that it planned repaying part of the 185 mln euro syndicated loan, while the repayment term for the remainder will be extended by one more year.
BACB and Enemona's stocks posted double-digit declines in stock prices. The bank's stock depreciated by 24.14% to 22 leva per share, while Enemona's stock shed 15.27%, to 8.60 leva per share.
Elana Agricultiral Land Opportunity Fund REIT and Neochim each lost over 9% of their market value to 1.27 and 63.20 leva per share. Chimimport and Kaolin slipped by 8%, to 3.79 and 4.49 leva, respectively.
Synergon Holding's also lost over 9% of its market capitalization today. The stock of the company depreciated to 3.50 leva per share. Stara Planina Hold and Albena Invest Hold shed 4.96 and 3.99%, to 2.30 and 6.40 leva per share, respectively.
Slanchev Bryag's stock price posted a record decline today (44.44%, to 6.00 leva per share), while Hydraulic Elements and Systems slumped by 34.78% to 7.50 leva per share.
