Bucharesters' Average Salary at 1,500 Euros

Private sector employees in Bucharest and the surrounding Ilfov county earn 1,450 euros in gross salary each month, Ziarul Financiar reported.
The figure exceeda by 120% the average salary of the employees in companies that operate in North-Eastern Romania and 30% more than those in the Western part of Romania, the second-ranking region in terms of earnings, with a gross monthly salary of 1,125 euros, reveals data from the Total Remunerations Survey conducted by Mercer, one of the largest human resources consulting companies worldwide.
Only employees in Bucharest-Ilfov, in Eastern, Western, South-Western and Southern Romania have gross monthly salaries worth over 1,000 euros per month.
The lowest earnings are recorded in the North-Eastern part of Romania - Dorohoi, Botosani, Piatra Neamt - with an average gross monthly salary of 660 euros, followed by the South-East, with 680 euros.
