BSE Indexes End Lower Following Two Straight Days of Gains

Wednesday once again turned out to be a turning point for the investors on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE). Three of the four stock indexes ended today's session in negative territory. The decline coincided with the negative sentiment on the European capital markets.
Despite the positive start to the session, the SOFIX ended the day 0.74% lower at 641.46 points.
The broader BG40 index slipped by 1.25%, to 168.92 points, while the BGTR30 index of best performers in total return lost 1.06%, to 437.83 points. BG REIT was the only index to post a gain today. The index advanced by 0.56%, to 64.61 points.
BSE's overall turnover came to 4.83 mln leva, while the value of the over-the-counter deals amounted to nearly 1.4 mln as at 14:21 p.m. A total of 107 companies were traded on the day with 38 of the stocks posting gains.
Stara Planina Hold's stock appreciated by 1.25% to 2.51 leva per share following yesterday's news on the repurchasing of shares by the company. The trading volume on the position totaled 38,432 shares. Stara Planina Hold was among the few that posted gains on BSE's Official market.
Some ot today's advancers included Lead & Zinc Complex (+1.62%, to 18.8 leva), Bulgarian River Shipping (+3.44%, to 3.1 leva) and Sparky Eltos (+0.2%, to 4.5 leva).
Banking stocks ended today's session mixed. FIBank and KTB posted gains, while CCB and BACB closed lower.
Fibank's stock appreciated by 1.63%, to 3.88 leva per share, while the traded volume on the position came to 234,283 shares. KTB's stock prices went up by 3.25% to 75.39 leva per share.
BACB slipped by 7.41% to 25 leva per share. The average price of the stock settled at 25.34 leva per share, while the trading volume totaled 496 shares.
CCB's stock shed 3.92% of its value to 2.4 leva per share. The traded volume amounted to 52,892 shares.
Orgachim's stock price went up to 118.8 leva per share during the session, only to close 1.57% lower at 113 leva per share.
A total of 104,283 shares in Sopharma changed hands on the day. The stock depreciated by 1.24% to 2.22 leva per share. Mоnbat's stock depreciated by 1.25% то 6.73 leva per share.
Chimiport was also among BSE's decliners today. The stock of the holding company depreciated by 4.35% to 4.4 leva per share. The total traded volume on the position amounted to 33,457 shares.
Holding Roads' stock advanced by 8.33% to 13 leva per share. Moststroy's stock price declined by 8.29% to 10.01 leva per share, while Trace Group Hold closed 3.17% lower at 58.1 leva per share.
Favorit Hold was traded in big volumes today. A total of 15 300 shares in the company changed hands in a single deal at a price of 6.9 leva per share. The stock appreciated by 33.98%.
