State to Assist Turkish Company with Lyulin Motorway

The Bulgarian State will assist the Turkish company Mapa-Cengiz, which is building the Lyulin Motorway, to resolve the problems emerging from the crossing of the route by engineering networks - natural gas pipelines, water pipelines and electricity transmission lines, the National Agency for Road Infrastructure (NARI) said on Friday.
An agreement to this effect was reached at a working meeting between representatives of the company, the Transport Ministry and NARI. The Agency said it had committed itself to assist the solution of these problems within two weeks.
The contractor has not demanded an increase of the value of the contract. At the meeting, the representatives of the Turkish company expressed their resolve to complete the project successfully.
Within two weeks, the consultant for the project will state its position in principle concerning the validity of the contractor's claims, and the Turkish company will draw up a detailed plan on how it will honour its contractual commitments and on what resources. On the basis of the feasibility of the plan and the actual commitment of the contractor with it, the contracting authority (the State) will decide how to proceed with the contract.
