One Romanian, Delinquent on Loans from 14 Banks

The popularity of credits in Romania over the last few years has seen 1.9 million clients take out loans with at least two banks in parallel, but 6% of them have fallen behind with their payments, Ziarul Financiar reported.
Data from the Credit Bureau, the institution created by commercial banks to manage data related to the retail market, reveal that over 120,000 clients had delinquent loans from one or more lenders at the end of September.
The record is, however, held by a client who managed to accumulate delinquent loans from no less than 14 banks.
Although the institution did not reveal the total number of clients with delinquent loans at the end of September, data from the Romanian central bank (which uses Credit Bureau data) show that in August, there were over 400,000 clients who had fallen behind with their payments by more than thirty days.
