Average Net Nominal Wage in Romania Up by 24.6%

The average net nominal wage in Romania has grown by 24.6 pct in September this year compared to the level it registered in the same month last year, according to the data issued by the National Statistics Institute (INS), nineoclock.ro reported.
Likewise, the real wage index has registered a growth of 16.1% during the same period. The average gross nominal wage in September 2008 stood at RON 1 751, up by 1.3% month on month, while the average net nominal wage stood at RON 1 296 being, up by 1.5% compared to August.
The highest level of the average net nominal wage in September 2008 was registered in fossil fuel extraction activities and related services (RON 3 380), while the lowest was registered in clothing production (RON 740).
According to the same source, the volume of industrial turnover has grown overall (internal and foreign markets) by 7.9% in the first nine months of 2008 compared to the same period last year. In the January 1–September 30, 2008 interval the growth of the industrial turnover was backed by the electric and thermal energy, gas and water industry (+24.8%) and by the processing industry (+6.3%).
Likewise, in September 2008 the overall (internal and external market) new industrial orders have grown by 31.2 per cent compared to the previous month and by 43.1 per cent compared to the level registered in September 2007.
In September all large industrial groups have registered growth in the volume of orders – capital goods industry (+46.2 per cent), consumer goods industry (+21.5 per cent), intermediary goods industry (+15.9 per cent) and durable goods industry (+10.5 per cent).
The overall (internal and foreign market) industrial production prices have dropped by 0.1 per cent compared to the previous month, while growing by 18.6 per cent compared to the same month last year.
