A total of 22 public companies raised their capital through the issuing of rights in 2008, data of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) show.

The companies raised a total of 458.53 mln leva.

The number of companies that carried out capital increases in 2007 stood at 21 but the raised funding amounted to 460.47 mln leva.

A total of 17 real estate investment trusts (REIT) were listed on BSE in 2008. They raised 35.45 mln leva. The number of REITS listed in 2007 amounted to 20, while the proceeds stood at 40.44 mln leva.

A total of 23 bond issues with a total value of 428.53 mln leva were floated on BSE this year. The number of issues stood at 30, to a total value of 448.25 mln leva, a year earlier.
