Against the backdrop of the low trading volumes in 2008, which affected last year's revenues of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), today a total of 3.58 mln shares in Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) changed hands to a total price of 325 mln leva.

As a result, today BSE posted its fifth biggest daily turnover - 329.4 mln leva. The previous record turnovers were registered when packages in the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, Economic and Investment Bank, insurer DZI and DZI - Bank were transferred.

A total of 30% (1.8 mln. shares) of the capital KTB were transferred on BSE's over-the-counter market at a price of 102.974 leva apiece, or a total of 185.35 mln leva. Under contractual obligations Bromac EOOD had to sell a total of 1.8 shares (30% of the capital) of KTB, to Bulgarian Acquisition Company ІІ S.a.r.L of Luxembourg. The latter co-owns the bank with the State General Reserve Fund of the Sultanate of Oman (SGRF).

The general shareholders' meeting of KTB was held earlier today, where shareholders discussed changes to the banks governing bodies.

KTB's stock ended today's session at a price of 65.00 leva per share, down by 9.72% compared to the opening price.

A total of of 75 issues were traded on BSE on the day with 29 of the companies posting stock price gains.

Unlike yesterday, all four indexes ended today's session in negative territory. The SOFIX blue-chip index slipped by 0.66%, to 276.10 points, the broader BG40 index skidded 2.75% lower, to 85.84 points; BG REIT shed 2.16%, to 37.65 points and BG TR30 lost 0.66%, to 206.61 points.

Some of today's advancers included Central Cooperative Bank (+4.46%, to 0.87 leva) and First Investment Bank (+3.72%, to 1.45 leva). Bulgarian-American Credit Bank shed edged 0.02% down, to 8.15 leva.

The actively traded infrastructure companies ended today's session mixed. Gainers included (+2.54%, to 2.19 leva) and Moststroy (+2.67%, to 2.35 leva). Trace Group slipped by 1.49%, to 33.00 leva per share.

Chimimport (+7.68%, to 1.43 leva) and Lead & Zinc Complex (3.66%, to 8.78 leva) also ended today's session on positive territory.

Intersky was registered on BSE today. The company is yet to decide on the floating of freely traded shares on the bourse, the executive director of the company Grigor Gospodinov said.

The starting price is set at 3.10 leva, while the company will be traded under the N0K stock symbol. The issue amounts to 8.37 mln leva, divided in as many shares with 1 leva par value each.

Thus, a total of 13 issues have been registered on BSE since the start of the year - three belong to joint stock companies, other three to mutual funds and seven are bond issues.
