Companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and the electronic RASDAQ market, who announced that they intend to distribute dividends, have allocated some RON 1 billion (€225 million) for this purpose. The value is far lower than last year, in conditions in which Petrom, the largest listed company, announced it would not distribute dividends from last year's profit, after distributing over RON 1 billion to its shareholders the year before.

According to an analysis made by Romanian Business Standard, which considered dividends announced by 25 companies, the main shareholders of these companies will cumulatively obtain some RON 700 million gross (€162.6 mln) this year, over 43 percent of this amount to go to Societe Generale, majority shareholder of BRD bank. BRD dividend yields amount to 11.3 percent, considering the price in Friday's closing session.

The Ministry of Economy is second among top shareholders to receive dividends this year, worth RON 107.15 million (€25.27 mln). The ministry's main shares are Transgaz, for which it will receive RON 90 mln, and Transelectrica, at RON 16.2 mln.
