The month of April, similarly to March, started with weekly gains for the indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE).

BSE's all four indexes ended today's session in positive territory. The SOFIX blue-chip index closed 2.59% higher at 295.59 points, while the broader BG 40 advanced by 1.08% to 88.72 points. BG REIT and BG TR30 gained 4.08% and 2.03%, to 40.78 points and 219.47 points, respectively.

BSE's overall turnover came to 4.75 mln leva today. A total of 93 issues were traded on the day with 54 of the companies posting stock price gains. Trade on BSE this week was marked by considerable volumes on the most liquid stocks.

The indexes posted weekly advances as well. The advance is as follows: SOFIX (+3.85%), BG 40 (+1.68%), BG REIT (+5.29%) and BG TR30 (+2.7%).

A total of 24 of the stocks included in the calculation of the BG40 index posted gains over the week, while the prices of others remained unchanged.

BenchMark Fund Estates was BG40's biggest advancer this week gaining 20.51%, to 0.47 leva per share.

Industrial Holding Bulgaria ranked second after its average stock price rose by 20.44%, to 1.65 leva over the week.

Corporate Commercial Banka pared its losses this week after the stock price of the company fell to under 60 leva per share last week. The stock appreciated by 12.82% to an average of 66 leva per share over the past five trading sessions.
