Unit 5 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant was brought on stream on Friday night after successful completion of scheduled annual maintenance, the Plant said in a press release.
The Nuclear Regulatory Agency conducted the necessary check and granted its consent for restart and operation of the 1,000 MW reactor.
Unit 5 was stopped on April 11. While it was switched off, planned activities were carried out and all installations scheduled for maintenance in the long-term time table of Kozloduy were covered.
The reactor was refuelled for the new, 16th fuel campaign.
In accordance with the schedule of the Electric System Operator, the other 1,000 MW unit of the Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 6, is operating at 100% of its capacity.
