The production of solid fuels in May dropped 0.9 per cent to 1,834,000 tonnes from April, and electricity production decreased by 2.7 per cent to 2,893 gigawatt hours (GWh), the National Statistical Institute reported.

The production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), unleaded petrol and diesel increased, respectively, 6.3 per cent to 17,000 tonnes, 27 per cent to 179,000 t and 6.6 per cent to 211,000 t.

In May the production of LPG, unleaded petrol and diesel increased respectively by 21.4 per cent, 20.9 per cent and 9.3 per cent from a year earlier, while the production of solid fuels, electricity and natural gas dropped by 11.7 per cent, 14.4 per cent and 100 per cent respectively.

The deliveries of LPG, unleaded petrol and diesel in May increased month-on-month by 2.9 per cent to 35,000 t, 20.8 per cent to 87,000 t and 56.1 per cent to 242,000 t respectively.

The deliveries of solid fuels, natural gas and electricity decreased respectively by 1.4 per cent to 1,993,000 t, 21.1 per cent to 146 million standard cubic metres and 4.7 per cent to 2,355 GWh.

In May the deliveries of LPG, unleaded petrol and diesel increased year-on-year by 9.4 per cent, 58.2 per cent and 22.2 per cent respectively. The deliveries of solid fuels, natural gas and electricity dropped by 17.9 per cent, 48.6 per cent and 5.2 per cent respectively.
