24 Chassa newspaper quotes Prime Minister Boyko Borissov: "Purvanov is no longer head of state, but a political figure. Purvanov used to be head of state until several months ago, but now we all know that [Е] he is going through with his political project."
The Prime Minister declined to comment on Purvanov's recent statement that his communication with the government is failing. Borissov explained that he doesn't read the papers, but just sifts through the sports pages, because after 12 years he knows the newspapers' owners and what they are capable of putting together.
He also dodged the issue of the no-confidence vote that the Bulgarian Socialist Party is preparing to move against the cabinet. The Prime Minister underscored that if he fell from power and withdrew GERB MPs from Parliament, the President would have to form a caretaker government with failed deputy ministers from the former government. Borissov made it clear that he is not bothered by Dogan's case in Strasbourg. The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) filed a complaint against Bulgaria with the European Court of Human Rights over a ruling of the Constitutional Court which declared invalid 18,000 votes cast for the party in Turkey during the 2009 general elections.
The MRF may get 10,000 euro in compensation. Borissov went a step further than Blue Coalition leader Ivan Kostov who claims that Bulgaria's economy is put to sleep by saying that Bulgaria's economy is dead and done with. The government has to make conditions easier for businesses so that they pull the country through.
