Investors Shun Bulgarian Stocks on Monday
Sell-offs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) continued throughout Monday's session and investors' negative sentiment sunk all five indexes. SOFIX slipped by 1.77% to 348.05 points, BG 40 shed 1.06% to 113.39 points, while BG REIT (-lost 1.26% to 47.03 points. BG TR30 closed 2.05% down at 286.99 points, while CGIX shed 2.14% on the day to 96.71 points.
CGIX is the index of the seven public companies with the best corporate governance.
The companies included in BSE's latest index are Stara Planina Hold (-2.71%, to 3.162 leva), Monbat (-0.80%, to 6.20 leva), Sopharma (-1.98%, to 3.219 leva), Industrial Holding Bulgaria (-8.93%, to 0.683 leva), Corporate Commercial Bank (-0.06%, to 77.00 leva), Kaolin (-2.04%, to 2.449 leva) and Enemona (-4.74%, to 4.00 leva.
Corporate Commercial Bank posted the smalles stock price decline among the publicly traded Bulgarian banks. Central Cooperative Bank and First Investment Bank's shed 5.74% and 5.83% of their values, respectively to 0.87 leva and 2.26 leva per share. Bulgarian-American Credit Bank lost 1.28% to 3.85 leva.
Neochim' stock price went down by 1.33% to 37 leva per share.
Chimimport's common stock ended the day 4.37% down at 1.97 leva per share, while the price of the company's preferred shares remained unchanged at 2.22 leva.
A total of 92 issues were traded on the day with 21 of the companies posting stock price gains.
BSE's overal turnover came close to 1.5 mln. leva.
