The last session of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange for the month of August has come to an end. Most indexes ended the day lower but the Bulgarian capital market recorded a strong month.

The SOFIX blue-chip index ended today's session 1.58% down at 454.00 points. The broader BG 40 shed 2.00% on the day to 125.66 points, while BG TR30 lost 1.53%, closing at 338.70 points. BG REIT was the only gainer on the day advancing by 0.47%, to 44.43 points.

The monthly performance of the indexes is as follows SOFIX (+27.52%), BG 40 (+25.37%), BG REIT (+11.75%) and BG TR30 (+26.11%).

Gainers since the start of the year include SOFIX (+26.58%), BG 40 (+16.56%) and BG TR30 (+24.15%), while BG REIT is down 8.45%.

BSE's overall turnover came to 2.75 mln leva today, while the value of the over-the-counter deals exceeded 679,768 leva as at 2.36 p.m. A total of 86 issues were traded on the day with 18 of the stocks posting price gains.

A total of 49% of the capital of Briast-D, or 196,500, were transferred on the day. Most of the shares (190,000) traded hands in a single deal.

More than 1% (690 139 shares) of the capital of Eurohold Bulgaria also changed hands today. A total of 680,000 of the shares were transferred in a single deal at a price of 1.45 leva per share. The stock depreciated by 2.77%, to 1.44 leva per share.

The traded volume on the position of Sopharma stood at 101,687 shares. The stock added 1.55% to its value to close at 3.86 leva per share.

Stara Planina Hold closed 0.17% down at 1.73 leva per share. A total of 8,222 shares in the company traded hands on the day. The company booked 285,000 consolidated profit for the first half of the year, compared to 3.33 mln leva for the year-ago period. The net sales revenue of the company amounted to 19.9 mln leva as the end of June, down 61% year on year.

Hydraulic Elements & Systems' stock appreciated to 4.00 leva per share after 2,340 shares traded.

Other decliners on the day included Kaolin (-0.57%, to 5.25 leva) and Enemona (-1.43%, to 9.20 leva).
