The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) managed to end Wednesday's session higher after spending almost the entire day in negative territory. The index advanced by 0.41% to 474.68 points.

Advancers on the day also included BG REIT (+2.16%, to 45.92 points) and BG TR30 (+0.49%, to 349.13 points). BG40 was the only decliner on the day slipping by 0.29% to 128.57 points.

BSE's overall turnover came to 6.71 mln leva. A total of 74 issues were traded on the day with 30 of the stocks posting price gains. The value of the over-the-counter deals amounted to 2.36 mln leva as at 2:35 p.m..

A total of 3 655 shares in Orgachim traded hands on the day. The stock appreciated by 2.67%, to 103.90 leva per share. The turnover on the position exceeded 367,000 leva on the day.

Banking stocks ended the day mixed - Central Cooperative Bank (-0.13%, to 1.58 leva), First Investment Bank (-0.03%), Corporate Commercial Bank (+0.88%, to 55.99 leva) and Bulgarian-American Credit Bank (+0.01%, to 17.00 leva).

Chimimport's common (-0.46%, to 2.62 leva) and preferred stock (-0.23%, to 2.58 leva) depreciated.

Lead & Zinc's stock ended the day 0.54% down at 15.15 leva per share.

Other gainers today included Monbat (+1.23%, to 7.49 leva), Sopharma (+1.05%, to 3.85 leva) and Bulgarska Roza-Sevtopolis (+1.72%, to 1.24 leva).

Unlike Holding Roads (-1.81%, to 3.73 leva) and Trace Group Hold (-1.57%, to 72.00 leva), Moststroy advanced on the day by 1.53%, to 5.30 leva.

Eurohold Bulgaria skidded 1.29% lower to 1.38 leva per share, while Euroins' stock price remained unchanged at 1.70 leva per share. The traded volume on the position amounted to 41,349 shares.

Toplivo and Euroins will no longer participate in the calculation of the SOFIX index and will be replaced with Eurohold Bulgaria and Trace Group Hold.

Advance Terrafund, Industrial Capital Holding, BenchMark Fund Estates, Etropal and Oli & Gas Exploration & Production will be removed from the BG40 index. They will be replaced by Alcomet, FairPlay Properties, Technology and Innovation Corporation Saedinenie, M+S Hydraulic and Bulgartabac Holding.

The changes to the indexes will come into effect on September 23.
