The total trading turnover of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) came to 209.049 million leva (106.885 million euro) in February 2008, the monthly bulletin of the bourse shows.

The value of the transactions sealed on BSE in January amounted to 424.173 million leva (216.876 million euro) or 50,72% more compared to February.

BSE's turnover exceeded 495 million leva (253.089 million euro) in February 2007.

A total of 39,973 transactions were sealed on BSE in February 2008, compared to 56,546 for the previous month. The average number of daily transactions stood at 1,903 in February, down from 2,570 in January.

The market capitalization of the public companies totalled 25.517 billion leva as at the end of February 2008, up by 5.39% month on month and 37.57% year on year.

The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (2.888 billion leva), Chimimport (1.672 billion leva) and First Investment Bank (1.08 billion leva) are the leaders in terms of market capitalization on BSE. Sopharma and the Bulgarian American Credit Bank follow with over 900 million leva market capitalization each.
