The largest oil and gas company in CEE, Petrom, posted the audited RAS preliminary results for 2007. EBIT decreased by 29% compared to 2006, to RON 2b, due to lower oil production and RON appreciation, while EBITDA fell 13% to RON 3.1b, Alpha Finance Romania reported.

The net income stood at RON 1.8b, which is 22% lower compared to 2006. Turnover reached RON 12.3b, 6% lower, while the investments increased by 30% to RON 3.7b. The number of employees decreased by 20% to 26,397.

In the exploration and production segment EBIT reached RON 2.8b, 24% lower compared to 2006, while EBITDA reached RON 3.6b, 18% lower.

In the refining and marketing segment the company recorded losses of RON 1.07b, at the same level as in 2006.
