The Top 20 Insurance Brokers In Bulgaria Hold 68.8% Of The Market, As Of June 2007
The biggest insurance brokers in Bulgaria listed in profit.bg's top 20 chart, boast a total premium income of 139.131 mln leva (71.136 mln euros), which is a market share of 68.79%, shows data provided by the Financial Supervision Commission dated June 30, 2007.
Eurolife Bulgaria leads the chart with a market share of 11.60%, followed by Marsh OOD (15.09%), which topped the chart last year.
ING Insurance Brokers rank third with 5.52%, and one of the youngest players on the market – Raiffeissen Insurance Brokers, which managed to gain a 5.09% market share in just a few months, came fourth.
AON Bulgaria ranked fifth after its market share shrank from 9.34% to 4.33% in one year. SDI Group and Pfoe Agency are sixth and seventh, respectively.
HVB Leasing Insurance Broker Bulgaria, Delivery Broker and Insurance Broker Tetra Ins also make it into the top 10.
As we already informed, the total premium income of Bulgarian insurance brokers in H1 stood at 202.328 mln leva (103.448 mln euros), which is 29% of the insurance market's gross income.
General insurance accounts for 168.04 mln leva of it (85.918 mln euros), or 28.2% of gross insurance premium income, and 34.288 mln leva (17.531 mln euros) come from life-insurance (33.71% of gross premium income).
Earnings from commissions stood at 41.806 mln leva (21.375 mln euros), of which 37.343 mln leva (19.093 mln euros) come from general insurance, and 4.462 mln leva (2.281 mln euros) from life insurance.
