The supply of mountain and coastal holiday homes in Bulgaria increased by more than 50 per cent in the first half of 2007, Colliers International reports. Small resorts continued to gain market share as new supply is shifting away from most popular locations.

The demand continues to be formed predominantly by private individuals from the United Kingdom and Ireland, followed by Bulgarian Diaspora, Russians, Germans, and Scandinavians, the report states.

The average size of coastal holiday developments decreased during the second half of 2006 following a growing number of small projects with fewer than 50 units, while in the mountain resorts the average size remained unchanged. The share of completed developments in the overall supply increased during the last six months.
