BSE Indexes Snap Losing Streak
The indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) got off to strong start today only to retreat close to yesterday's levels later.
The indexes, however, posted gains at the end of the day putting an end to the losing streak. The SOFIX blue-chip index advanced by 1.27% to 1,035.68 points, while the broader BG40 edged 1.04% up to 261.41 points.
BSE lags behind the western capital markets, which are currently trading between 2 and 3% higher. The stock indexes in Romania posted gains of over 4%.
The bellwethers ended the day mixed. Industrial Holding Bulgaria added 4.26% to its value closing at 6.10 leva per share, while Stara Planina Hold shed 3.42% to 4.77 leva per share.
Odessos Ship Repair Yard's stock price went up by 6.17%. The last deal on the position was sealed at a price of 217.65 leva per share. Lead&Zinc Complex slumped by 5.36% to 26.5 leva per share.
A total of 30,000 shares in Chimimport traded hands on the day. The stock appreciated by 3.19% to 7.92 leva per share.
Orgachim and Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) posted moderate gains today. Orgachim's stock appreciated by 0.47% to 214 leva per share, while CCB advanced by 0.5% to 4.04 leva per share.
Eurohold Bulgaria rose by 2.13% to an average of 4.80 leva per share. The traded volume on the position amounted to 28,902 shares.
Infrastructure companies Holding Roads and Trace Group Hold advanced by 0.97% and 0.56%, to 15.70 and 107.21 leva per share.
The turnover on BSE's regulated market topped 2.8 mln leva on the day.
