„The heavy declines of the global capital markers are also likely to shift onto the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) today", Konstantin Abrashev, portfolio manager at BehcMark Asset Management, told Profit.bg.
The string of negative news regarding the Eastern European economies renewed investors' fears that these problems will reflect on the banking sector as well. „Banking stocks have the biggest weight in the regional indexes", the portfolio manager added.
The indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted their second straight decline this week. SOFIX and BG40 lost over 2% of their value.
BG40 shed 2.36% to a new all-time high of 87.37 points. The SOFIX blue-chip index lost 2.10%, to 268.56 points.
BGREIT and BGTR30 ended the day 0.52% and 1.83% lower, at 40.29 and 193.31 points, respectively.
BSE's overall turnover topped 2.31 mln leva yesterday. A total of 81 issues were traded on the day, with 18 of the companies posting stock price gains.
