Starter battery maker Monbat booked 9.74 mln leva net sales revenue for January 2009. The figure represents a 49.72-percent year on year decline, the company said.

The total net sales revenue of the company comprised 8.88 mln leva sales of output; 33,000 leva product sales; 109,000 leva service sales and 718,000 leva from Other sales.

The decline in the revenue of the company for January may be put down to a decrease in the sales and the lower product prices.

„It has to be taken into consideration that the price of lead stood at 2,605 dollars/tonne in January 2008, while a year later it dropped to 1,132 dollars/tonne ", the company said.

Monbat posted 1.11 mln leva profit for January 2009, down 71.43%, compared to the corresponding month of 2008.

A total of 4 846 shares in the company have traded hands on BSE so far today. The price of the stock is down 3.72%, to 3.54 leva per share.
