The net cash shortage in Romania's economy is standing at RON 9 billion (2.2 billion euro), according to the latest analyses of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), while the net cash shortage of the companies of systemic relevance is put at RON 2 billion, head of the BNR's Financial Stability Division Florin Neagu told a seminar on Wednesday on the latest economic developments.
„Romania's total economy is facing a net cash shortage of RON 9 billion. This is the value BNR has reached at so far," said Neagu. Speaking of the latest developments in arrears, Neagu said that „they have increased in line with the economy, and the ones from providers generated pressure on business partners."
„On average, debts are recovered within 100 days, and SMEs were the ones to receive most penalties for overdue payment collection," said Neagu. According to Neagu, the companies in Romania use modest funds coming from local banks, just 14 percent of their total financing demand, on average.
„The financing demand of the companies of systemic relevance remained around 3 - 4 percent the whole time. They modestly resorted to local banks resources," said Neagu. The companies of systemic relevance account for 16 percent of the total market assets, 40 percent of exports and 30 percent of imports.
