Bulgartabac Holding reported a net profit of 18,181,000 leva in January-September, which is more than thrice the respective figure for 2009, sources from the company said Monday.

Proceeds from sales in January-September 2010 increased by 24.7 per cent from the like period in the previous year to 218,879,000 leva.

Sales of tobacco products in the period under review totalled 11,485 t and 211,108,000 leva, of which 2,187 t and 41,402,000 leva on the domestic market.

Export of cigarette products increases reaching 81 per cent of the total volume of sold cigarettes in January-September, or 9,298 t and 169,706,000 leva. The respective figures in 2009 were 5,839 t and 89,983,000 leva.

In addition to cigarettes, Bulgartabac also exports tobacco strips and Oriental leaf tobacco.

In January-September 2010 administrative costs in the holding were by 16.1 per cent less than in the like period in 2009.
