Just Two Asset Management Funds in Bulgaria Control More Than 100 Mln Leva

Just two asset management funds in Bulgaria (DSK Asset Management and Elana Fund Management) control assets in the amount of more than 100 mln leva in January, according to Profit.bg statistics.
DSK Asset Management is the leader in this list with assets valued at 105 mln leva (53.685 mln euros), down from 129.7 million at the end of 2007. The Financial Supervision Commission said yesterday it issued operation license to a fourth scheme in the group – DSK Imoti (which is to invest in real estate investment trusts).
Assets of Elana Fund Management dipped from 114.09 mln to 102.9 mln leva (52.611 mln euros) in January. At the beginning of the week the company announced the launching of its sixth fund – Elana Dollar Fund.
Raiffeissen Asset Management controls less a little less than 100 mln leva, and Karoll Capital Management 86.2 mln leva.
Capman Asset Management controls a little over 71 mln leva, while all five funds of TBI Asset Management are responsible for some 59 mln leva.
It is interesting to note that none of the top 10 funds (this also includes UBB Asset Management, BenchMark Asset Management, Standard Asset Management and Balkan Asset Management) reported a hike in assets in January.
On 31 Jan 2008 the total value of assets managed by Bulgarian funds stood at 735.995 mln leva (376.30 mln euros), down from 879.56 mln leva (44.971 mln euros) in December 2007.
