SOFIX Back in Negative Territory in 2009 after June Losses

The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) slipped into negative territory in 2009 following its declines this month.
SOFIX advanced by 0.03% to 354.20 points today. BG TR30 gained 0.01%, to 264.75 points. Decliners on the day included BG40 (-0.45%, to 99.62 points) and BG REIT (-0.22%, to 39.95 points).
BSE's overall turnover exceeded 662,000 leva. The bond market accounted for 134,252 leva of the figure. The value of the over-the-counter deals amounted to more than 29 mln leva as at 3:20 p.m. A total of 91.24% of the capital of Slantse Stara Zagora Tabac were transferred earlier today for 21.22 mln leva.
Three of the indexes posted weekly declines. These are: SOFIX (-1.96%), BG40 (-2.79%) анд BG TR30 (-1.93%). BG REIT is up by 0.88% on a weekly basis.
The monthly declines for the four indexes are as follows: SOFIX (-6.68%), BG40 (-4.39%), BG REIT (-1.31%) and BG TR30 (-6.34%).
A week ago SOFIX was advancing since the start of the year but after the last few sessions the index slipped into negative territory. SOFIX is down 1.24% in 2009, while BG40, BGREIT and BGTR30 are losing 7.6%, 17.68% and 2.96%, respectively.
A total of 11 companies included in the calculation of the BG40 posted gains over the week. The best performers included Etropal (+8.33%, to an average price of 1.95 leva per share), Elhim Iskra (+6.9%, to 1.24 leva) and Lead & Zinc (+6.79%, to 12.26 leva).
