Burgas was named the best city to live in Bulgaria in a survey by Darik Radio and 24 Chassa daily.

Varna, the biggest city on the Black Sea Coast, was number 1 in the readers' online poll.

27 cities were ranked according to 25 criteria.

Burgas ranked best in the categories: investments in infrastructure, kindergartens, culture, unemployment, foreign investments, working hours of shops and trade centers etc.

However the city received poor rankings in the categories ecology and crime rate.

The capital city Sofia was named "Best city for business", Veliko Tarnovo is "The most beautiful city" and Smolyan is "Greenest city".

In the parallel online readers' poll the top 3 spots were taken by Varna, Blagoevgrad and Haskovo.

At the bottom of the chart are Yambol, Silistra and Pernik.

This is the forth annual survey. The winners in previous years have been Varna (2007 and 2008) and Sofia (2009).
